The short version
Breathizen is a once-a-day oral spray dietary supplement, sold on its sales page for clear breathing, congestion and breathing comfort. You spray 4 pumps (0.60 mL) into your mouth or onto your tongue.
The formula names five botanicals: mullein leaf extract 10:1, ginger root extract, bromelain from pineapple, organic lemon extract and organic Cordyceps militaris mushroom extract. No Supplement Facts panel or amounts are published. It is not the "Breathe Zen" nasal spray, and it is not a drug, an asthma medicine or an inhaler substitute.

Evidence check
Some, but it is thin. The meter shows how strong the human evidence is for each ingredient on its own.
Breathizen has no published trial, and its amounts are not printed. The strongest ingredient evidence is bromelain as an add-on in short sinusitis trials (Guo et al., 2006). Mullein rests on traditional use (EMA, Mullein flower). Treat the spray as a simple daily habit, not a breathing treatment. Why a missing Supplement Facts panel matters.
Your day
The sales page suggests the morning, before your first meal. Your prescribed medicines keep their own schedule.
Shake, then 4 pumps into the mouth or onto the tongue. The sales page suggests this time.
Inhalers and controller medicines stay on the schedule your doctor set. Breathizen is not a substitute.
A walk is a simple way to notice breathing. On orange or red air quality days, keep it indoors.
Breathlessness that wakes you at night is a reason to see a doctor, not to add a supplement.
Timing comes from the sales page. Medicines (MedlinePlus, Asthma control drugs); air quality (AirNow, AQI basics); when to get care (MedlinePlus, Breathing difficulty).
Claims, checked
Here is what the label claims, and what the ingredient research can and cannot back up.
Bromelain has small trials as an add-on for sinus swelling (Guo et al., 2006). Mullein flower is used traditionally for sore throat with dry cough (EMA, Mullein flower). Neither was tested in Breathizen.
No ingredient in Breathizen has good human evidence for lung function. Cordyceps exercise studies gave inconsistent results at 1-12 g a day (Jędrejko et al., 2026).
A spray is easy to take, but no study shows faster or better absorption for herbal sprays. A vitamin D trial found a spray worked about as well as capsules, not better (Todd et al., 2016).
It does not treat asthma, COPD, allergies or infections, and it never replaces an inhaler or controller medicine. Keep taking those every day as prescribed (MedlinePlus, Asthma control drugs). Sudden or severe breathing trouble needs 911 (MedlinePlus, Breathing difficulty).

Safety
For most healthy adults the risk looks low, but three ingredients carry real cautions.
